Paul recently retired as a Senior Vice President of Excess Casualty at AXIS Insurance in Bermuda where he held Management responsibility for teams of up to 30 individuals and budgets in excess of $150m. Before joining AXIS, Paul worked for XL Capital for 18 years in a variety of insurance, reinsurance and project management roles. In total, he has over 35 years of extensive experience in progressively senior roles at large multinational financial services companies.
Kathryn Kelly,
Director and Shareholder of EPS
Kathryn is President and CEO of RBK Advertising & Design, a marketing, design and branding company based in Bermuda and New York. Kathryn’s strengths lie in strategic planning, brand consulting and implementation, and in financial management. Kathryn has worked with many public and private companies in a range of industries including banking and finance, insurance, reinsurance, telecommunications, hospitality and the not for profit sector.
Jim Kesseli,
Independent Consultant, shareholder of EPS and President of Brayton Energy
Jim has worked in the field of energy conversion systems for 31 years, contributing to advancements in small gas turbines, low emission combustion systems and recuperators. As president of Brayton, Jim provides technical and managerial support for the company’s projects and 35 engineers and 8 support staff. Since founding the company in 2004, Jim has managed over 50 projects associated with gas turbines and energy conversion. Jim holds 17 patents relating to recuperators, combustors, and gas turbines.
Douglas Anderson,
Independent Consultant to EPS
Douglas is Principal of Redwood Power Consulting, LLC. He has over 30 years of experience in the power, energy and infrastructure sectors for companies such as GE SFG, Power Capital Partners, Fortistar Capital, and Northeast Utilities Company. He has extensive experience in asset management, project financing and operations, commercial and technical due diligence, and engineering. Mr. Anderson is experienced with most power generation and energy conversion technologies, including: nuclear, coal, hydroelectric, simple and combined cycle combustion turbines, cogeneration, geothermal, anaerobic digestion, biodiesel, gasification, reciprocating engines, solar, wind, and energy storage.
Steve L. Griller,
Independent Consultant to EPS
Steve’s career spans 40 years in the Power Generation Energy sector with General Electric and the last 15 years at GE Capital as Vice President of Global Risk Management. Currently Mr. Griller is Founder and Principal of Enertrix LLC, launched in 2008 and CEO of PTC LLC (Pathway to Capital), launched in 2015 which serves the Energy and Renewable industry and offers consulting services to private energy investors, municipalities, developers, & owners of distressed projects, with a unique skill of integrating technical and financial metrics to meet goals of profitability.
John O’Rourke,
Independent Consultant to EPS
John is a senior power industry executive with over 35 years management experience for a broad range of asset portfolios throughout North America and internationally. During his corporate career, Mr. O’Rourke has held executive management roles with FPL, (now NextEra), El Paso Corp. and Fort Chicago. John has had a direct hand in the management, acquisition, building and development of over 20,000 MWs across a wide spectrum of assets including gas, hydro, solar and wind facilities along with nuclear, coal, waste coal and municipal solid waste facilities. Since leaving Fort Chicago, he continues to provide a broad range of management consulting services via Dublin Lane LLC in power asset development and acquisition, asset management, strategic advice, management transition and expert witness testimony.
Engineering Team - Brayton Energy
- Core engineering team with extensive gas turbine expertise
- 45 staff of which 36 are engineers with post-graduate degrees from MIT or other highly ranked universities
- Responsible for the EPS Alpha and Beta turbine unit build outs
- Contractual arrangement – payments only for work completed
- Long-term contract in process – no common equity relationship
- Will continue to provide sustained engineering once Alpha and Beta units are complete
- Long-term partnership for 3.0 MW to 5.0 MW turbine development
- Will provide EPS use of its recuperator patents through a royalty-free license
- Source of potential additional recuperator technology patents
- Other patents developed through work on the Biomass Turbine will be the property of EPS
- CEO of Brayton is a Senior Consultant to the EPS Board of Directors on all technical issues

Michael P. Daly,
Director, Shareholder, President and Chief Executive Officer of EPS
Prior to joining EPS in January 2009, Mike held the positions of Co-Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and other senior operating positions with The Imagine Group, RAM Re Holdings Limited, London Reinsurance Group and International Risk Management Group. All of these companies participate in the (re)/insurance and financial services sectors. Mike’s key role with these companies encompassed senior operational, financial and risk management, capital markets and banking relationships. A Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant, Mike spent 11 years working with Coopers and Lybrand.
